Are you traveling,
do you get on a boat and go far away?
Is your mind free,
do you question the things that others say?
Just get on that boat,
youβll find somebody there
Are you all alone now?
Are you all alone now?
Are you crying,
do you tell people what they want to hear?
Is the sky blue,
do the others not see what is coming ahead?
Just stay on that boat,
that storm wonβt catch you now
Are you all alone now?
Are you all alone now?
Are you sleeping,
do you dream of the things that I told you that day?
Is it over,
has the storm passed are you still on your way?
This boat is all you got to get to me
Are you all alone now?
Are you all alone now?
This is the lyrics for The Traveler a simple ukulele song that I made many years ago. I sing and play the ukulele,Β but since I couldn’t mix songs myself back then, Dan Grubbs helped me with this. Now I mix and master my songs myself with varying degrees of success π The Traveler is the kind of song that could inspire me to write a lot of different stories, for some reason this song just really makes me want to write. You can find the short story inspired by the song The Traveler here:Β The Traveler
The story and the song have the same title and as you read the story you will find the song in the story in some way, although they are not necessarily about the same theme.
Sometimes I really want to write more stories for this song, because it feels like it could inspire so many different things. Let me know if you would like that? It would be a problem with the title, since the concept is that the title of the story and the song should always be the same, I guess I can’t call it The Traveler 2… π
This is a different type of post than I normally do. I just thought I might do some posts like this, putting the songs of “MyStoriesWithMusic” in focus. Let me know if you like it or if you don’t think this is a good idea. I just thought it might be fun to try to expand on the types of posts I have on the blog, although I still want the blog to be about the stories and the music.
If you like the images that have been used to illustrate this post, the first two have been edited, but they are from morguefile.come. The first photo is by xandert and the second photo is by MarcusL. The last photo is taken by me.

Thank you! π Haha… the spell checking has tried to make it into Norwegian again it seems… “Og” is the Norwegian word for “and”, so that’s a fun fact for you π

This is definitely a song that could inspire stories that go in many different directions. The ukulele is a really nice instrument when used properly; it works really well in this song. I’ve thought about buying a ukulele many times but am too lazy to practise on the guitar I already have!

I do love my ukulele very much, I think it has a sweet, simple sound π Practising isn’t always that fun, but mistakes are charming, right? π No, I really should practise more as well π
