Work in progress

Hi, so I hope everyone are doing well and that you all are having a great weekend! 😊

I thought it might be time for an update on my drawing on the Wacom tablet – although it is still a work in progress. I will even throw in a silly poem for you guys 😉

So this is were the last post ended, with the eyes, but I did feel like the eyes would need the rest of a face 😉. I thought this would be a good start for my silly poem as well.

In the beginning
I was nothing but eyes
Looking at the world
That was looking at me

So I added some skin color since I thought my first face probably shouldn’t be purple, although now that I am thinking of it, purple might have been a cool choice as well…

Doing some shading… starting to realise that this probably is not going to be as easy as I hoped it would be… and then I am thinking about the nose. It can’t be that hard to draw a nose, right? Should be easy, no problem.

Well …. So it isn’t easy, and this looks pretty strange… reminding me of some Narnia-like animal. Time to add some new parts to my silly poem as well.

In the beginning
I was nothing but eyes
Looking at the world
That was looking at me
Then I am pretty sure
I became the beast
Some creature
from another world
Was becoming me

Okay so we got a crazy-looking nose, should probably add a mouth as well. I guess that will make it all better 😉

Sure, she looks totally normal now? Right? 😉 This must be really innovative modern art….

Then the crazy nose got toned down a bit. Almost looking kind of normal I would say…. 😊

Still looking almost normal, but I got to say the nose is a real challenge. It can’t be flat. A flat nose really isn’t the look I was going for…

We are out of the normal zone again. Although it does seem like the nose is starting to pop out of the face a bit. Is this progress? 😉

So now the nose is looking as close as I could get it too normal, and then I thought she really shouldn’t be too normal… so I would need to add something. Blue hair sounded like a good idea 😉 Time for finishing that silly poem.

In the beginning
I was nothing but eyes
Looking at the world
That was looking at me
Then I am pretty sure
I became the beast
Some creature
from another world
Was becoming me

Then they toned me down
Made me almost normal
and I thought
I need something more
Can’t be this normal
Can’t be a bore
Blue hair
Sounds like a good idea
Blue hair
Sounds just like me

I didn’t feel like I could end it there though and I thought I would change the eyes a bit, try to make them less “flat” as well:

Does seem to help a little bit, but now I have lost all the eyelashes, and I also seem to have forgotten how to make them again… getting back the struggling feeling I got when I made the nose ….

Well, this is how far I got, as you can see she is still a work in progress, and you will hopefully see her again in a later post on her quest to become a finished face 😊

Thank you for sharing your progress! I love your “bloopers”, your comments on the bloopers, and then how, rather than giving up and scrapping it all, you just shrug it off and fix it! The poetry is, at once, hilarious and deep. I didn’t find the music but will go back and look for it. If your compositions are anything like the rest of this post, I’m in for a treat!
