Happy Musical Monday to everyone đ
(Although that name does make me think of an actual musical⊠which isnât exactly what Iâm going for I guess) â Happy Music Monday maybe đ
It is time for the new song I have made, just like I promised, and here it is: âHey, hey my love.â
It isnât the happiest song, but I like it, I think it even might have a story that wants to be told. I hope you like it too, and if you have any feedback, Iâd be glad to hear it đ. I might even make another version of the song.
This song is made with digital instruments which is very practical since there are so many instruments to choose from. I play the melody I want on a âkeyboardâ that is attached to my Mac and then I can have different instruments play my original melody. The sessions do tend to become pretty large even for simple songs like this one.

The vocals tend to almost always be from the first recordings, ironically because I always do many recordings to make sure that I have something to choose from. However, my voice tends to become âlighterâ and âlighterâ the more I sing, so I usually go for the first recordings because I always feel like they sound âwarmerâ.
This is how it looks with the effects on the song. Everything from compressors to reverb. A good example of reverb would be in the chorus where I have two different recordings playing at the same time on the: âHey, hey my loveâ, and it sounds like the room suddenly has gotten very big đ. Sometimes effects like that might be too much, but it can be fun to play around with.

Hey, hey my love
So it seems
when promises made must be broken
Itâs one of those days
I just didnât see it coming
Didnât think I would leave
Now it seems I will leave and weâll never know what this could be
*
Hey, hey my love, youâll find somebody else I knowÂ
Hey, hey my love, youâll find somebody else I know
*Â
Iâm not crying
Not even looking down
I just say the words then I turn around
You just didnât see it coming
Now I will have to leave
Seems like this future isnât gonna be what I thought it would be
*
Hey, hey my love, youâll find somebody else I knowÂ
Hey, hey my love, youâll find somebody else I knowÂ
*
I close my eyes
Try to breathe
A new day will come for me
I just didnât see it coming
Didnât think I would leave
This other life seems so different I just cannot believeÂ
*
Hey, hey my love, youâll find somebody else I knowÂ
Hey, hey my love, youâll find somebody else I knowÂ
*

Have a great Music Monday! đ

I really like this – the effects you’ve put on work well to create a poignant atmosphere.

Love the song and great to see your production and mixing! You need to write a story about writing a song now đ

The first attempts always have the best feel, despite technical flaws (mine is mostly pronunciation :D) I can totally relate to that! Thank you for sharing the process of making your music. I also write songs. I only use amateur guitar play with my not-so-a-singer voice. Hahaha. Great works!
