I hope you are looking forward to the weekend and that you got many great plans!

To kick this weekend off I thought I would add another song for download to the blog, and this time I thought I would add The Traveler. It is one of my old songs, played with the ukulele, and it has always had a special place in my heart. Sometimes the simple songs are the best ones I think 😊

Back then I didn’t mix my songs myself, so Dan Grubbs helped me with the mixing of the song, but I have thought about making new versions of this song now that I can mix myself. Perhaps that could be fun? 😊

Anyway, it is a good song for summer when so many of us are traveling, sometimes we just need to get away, right?

Yeah, this guy really looks like he needs a break from the photographer…. 😉 Time for a holiday…

Even though I have to admit that the kind of traveling that the song is about is probably a little different. It is not necessarily about being in a sailboat, to me the song is more about daring to go into the unknown, sometimes all alone. Daring to stand for what you believe in and being yourself even when there is a cost. It can be scary to spread those wings and just go for it…

Sometimes this is how I feel like (although I am obviously not a little bird 😉), sitting there staring into the horizon, not really daring to make the leap.

You might be fine on your little branch, but then you just got to do it. Test those little wings 😊

Just like this little amazing guy is doing 😉

Anyway, you can listen to “The Traveler” or download it, and now I will also add it to the permanent Download Music page on this blog.

    Lovely images and lovely thoughts. I couldn’t see a link to just play the song though rather than download? I do remember it from the original post you did with it in. Really nice, relaxing piece, great to sit back and listen with drink in hand 🙂

    Hilde, a beautiful post and a heavenly song! It’s haunting, soothing with a deep message for life for us all. Your thoughts in the post about finding the courage within to fly, whatever the cost touches me more than you will understand. Spookily close to something I’ve written and I hope to mention this soon. I love your playing, composition and singing … a joy to listen to.
