Time

Time
Is strange
Sometimes it’s like water
Flowing
Quickly
You don’t even notice
How fast it goes
Before it lets you
Come up for air
You breathe there
Above the water
Surprised
That so much time
Has passed
How could you
Have missed it

Other times
It’s like a rock
Unmoving
Solid
So still it hurts
You bang your head
Against that rock
Begging it
To move
Begging it
To let you go on
And you can’t believe
That you ever thought
It could pass too quickly
