Understanding Cyber PR is a public relations company you are looking artist with a baseline: Social Media Presence, Bio, Photo & Cover Art, A Genre, A Niche.
This gives you something to work with. Totally understandable.

I’m a 52 year old musician and writer, perhaps a ‘late-bloomer’. I’m putting more focus on music recording and performance and these items are definitely good goals just for getting gigs.

I work a full-time job. For me, the amounts of post/tweet/uploads listed seem impossible. I need a much better Bio. I can’t find anyone locally to take these type of photos or I just don’t know where to look. I’m capable of cover art. I think I’ve got a genre. Niche…never thought of it this way.

What say you, to those of us trying to get started on these goals?

It’s easy to turn a color photo into b/w, so utilize color if possible. 3) great photos and interesting/unique photos will help you get coverage AND better coverage. Sometimes a great photo helps land the cover story over other stories. 4) make photos easily available to the media on your website. Time is sometimes at a premium. The ability to grab photos instantly – rather than eIt for them to be emailed – is important.

On the other hand when I observe successful artists on Youtube or elsewhere they stand out because of the quality of their content and not because they post within a specific time-frame, so maybe it’s better to focus sometimes on a great production and to neglect a bit the online-presence until you can come back with something mind-blowing.

So I believe I am believe I am slowly but successfully building a social media presence. I do a blog post at least every other week and great promo pictures. I’m still working on the niche angle but I am well on my way. The one thing I am finding incredibly difficult to sort out is a “compelling” bio as you have stated. I DO have a bio but I’d be the first to admit that I don’t particularly think it is compelling and after reading so many articles on this and studying a few artists, I see why this is so important. I am now at the point where I am beginning to consider having it professionally done? Could you advise how I go about this? Thanks again for a very informative post.
Tosé
