Creating those eyes

My latest creative project is the Wacom tablet that can be used for digital drawings or paintings ๐Ÿ˜Š. It sounded fun before I bought it and it turns out that it really is, there is something very relaxing about drawing. I thought it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to share my work in progress.

Well โ€ฆ letโ€™s start with a purple canvas it seems (not entirely my favorite color, but white would just be too boring …)

The “grand” purple canvas ๐Ÿ˜‰
Sticking with the purple …

Wacom has a nice feature that duplicates what you draw/paint on the left side if your drawing on the right side. Very helpful or this would not have been symmetrical for sureโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜‰ In the end I should probably try to make it less symmetrical, but for this stage it works I think.

Even more fun is I guess that you can throw a bit of โ€œmagicโ€ into it with a “glowing” brush ๐Ÿ˜Š

Trying to make the eyes look like theyโ€™re โ€œaliveโ€ is the hardest part. Apparently according to helpful tutorials at Wacom it is all about thinking about light and shadows. I have at least tried to get some life into those eyes.

Need some eyelashes tooโ€ฆ

So this is how far I have gotten with creating the eyes. I just thought it might be fun to share as I like to see other peopleโ€™s posts about drawings/paintings that are evolving, and I hope to show you this one as it hopefully becomes a face. Fingers crossed ๐Ÿ˜Š

I’ve heard good things about Wacom from many people. I recently upgraded my iPad to one with an Apple Pencil. Haven’t tried sketching yet but great for handwriting poetry and marking up sheet music! Have fun, liking these sketches, the eyes follow you!
